Cordillera Ranch Set to Open State-of-the-Art Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch

Cordillera Ranch Set to Open State-of-the-Art Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch

Facility to Feature Hitting Bays with Flightscope Launch Monitors, Swing Catalyst 3D Motion Plate

(BOERNE, Texas) – Cordillera Ranch – the Hill Country’s premier luxury golf community – is nearing completion of its Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch and poised to become one of the top instruction facilities in the state.

Designed by renowned architect Jim Terrian, the Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch will feature two bays on the west end of the club’s Practice Park. Each bay – sophisticatedly constructed by industry leader Tim Cutshall – will have a Flightscope Launch Monitor, which provides an innovative combination of 3D Doppler Tracking and image processing. Cutshall, who was recently featured in LINKS Magazine, installed the radar so that it integrates with camera and video data, and provides instructors and students launch characteristics of each shot.

Each bay will also have a three-camera system integrated with the Flightscope Launch Monitor to provide instant feedback on every shot and help instructors develop a custom plan for improvement. Flightscope technology will also improve the Cordillera Ranch instruction staff’s club fitting capabilities.

The Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch is scheduled to open later this spring.

In addition, the Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch will be one of the few facilities in Texas to offer the Swing Catalyst 3D Motion Plate. The flagship swing analysis system provides a unique combination of the state-of-the-art pressure plate technology (Balance Plate) and a highly-advanced force plate. This enables instructors to study detailed foot pressure data and center of pressure patterns. The 3D Motion Plate also provides horizontal and vertical force measurements of the amount of torque and ground reaction forces generated during each swing. This data is invaluable information for analysis throughout the golf swing as the ground is the source of power and energy in the swing. The 3D data is perfectly synchronized with high-speed video images and Flightscope Launch Monitor technology.

“We’re adding the finishing touches to the Golf Performance Center at Cordillera Ranch and eagerly awaiting its unveiling to our members,” says Director of Instruction Bryan Gathright. “All of this incredible technology, combined with our instructors’ passion for making our members better players, certainly makes the future of golf instruction at Cordillera Ranch exciting.”

Set on pristine land in the Texas Hill Country, Cordillera Ranch boasts a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that meanders through valleys and oak-covered terrain. Many holes offer views of the Guadalupe River Valley and feature strategic bunkering, craggy limestone canyons and thought-provoking risk-reward shots. The Dallas Morning News ranked the Cordillera Ranch golf course fourth in its Texas Golf 2018 ranking of the state’s best layouts, and listed the par-3 16th hole among the state’s “Best” and “Most Beautiful” golf holes.

Situated 30 minutes northwest of San Antonio, Cordillera Ranch boasts 0.25-acre villas, one- to 10-plus acre estates, including valley-view, golf course and Guadalupe River frontage, as well as hilltop home sites. Cordillera Ranch’s seven on-site, resort-style amenity clubs – Golf, Tennis and Swim, Spa and Athletic, Social, Rod and Gun, Equestrian and River – are all available under one membership. This trailblazing model continues to attract a wide array of buyers from throughout Texas and the United States.

The Cordillera Ranch clubhouse was recently named the Most Beautiful Clubhouse in Texas by Architectural Digest. Community honors continue to roll in as well, as Where to Retire Magazine named Cordillera Ranch one of the “50 Best Master-Planned Communities in the U.S.,” and San Antonio Magazine tabbed it one of the best neighborhoods in the area.

Considered one of the top addresses in the San Antonio area, Cordillera Ranch continues to grow at an impressive pace – with nearly 800 homes completed (and more than 1,200 lot sales) in the community. At final build-out, Cordillera Ranch will total approximately 2,500 homes and preserve 80% of the land in its natural state.

The year 2018 was an exciting and successful one for Cordillera Ranch. The Vista Office and Visitor Center, housing the offices of Cordillera Ranch Realty, DH Investment Company, Pasadera Builders and the Cordillera Ranch POA administration, recently opened. Additionally, the community is constructing the Lodges at Cordillera Ranch, boutique onsite accommodations for property owners and club members’ guests. The first phase of Lodges will include two units with a total of 10 available rooms and are scheduled for completion by Q2 2019.

Led by Tidewater Golf Club, Spring Elite Package is One of Myrtle Beach’s Best Offers

Led by Tidewater Golf Club, Spring Elite Package is One of Myrtle Beach’s Best Offers

Leading Golf Package Allows Group Leaders to Choose Among Five Courses

CHERRY GROVE, S.C. — As golfers begin making preparations for their next trip to Myrtle Beach, group leaders are increasingly turning to the Spring Elite package, a deal anchored by Tidewater Golf Club, one of the area’s premier layouts.

The rising popularity of the Spring Elite package is based on the strength of its golf course offerings. In addition to Tidewater, the Spring Elite features Arrowhead Country Club, Prestwick Country Club, Arcadian Shores and the Jones Course at Sea Trail.

Groups have the opportunity to experience the Spring Elite as a three to five-night trip, based upon their needs, and can stay in accommodations ranging from oceanfront to golf course condos

With eight holes playing along either Cherry Grove Inlet or the Intracoastal Waterway, Tidewater is the Grand Strand’s most scenic layout. The stunning visuals are highlighted by the third and 12th holes, a pair of stunning par 3s that play along the inlet, and No. 13, a par 5 that offers a distant view of the Atlantic Ocean.

The layout has been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses, and Tidewater is a bucket list course in Myrtle Beach and all of South Carolina.

While a round at Tidewater may highlight the trip, it’s complemented by a quartet of quality layouts. Prestwick Country Club is among the area’s most underrated courses. The P.B. Dye track provides a stern challenge that leaves players talking long after they return home.

Arrowhead Country Club, a 27-hole facility, is home to multiple holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway, but the Raymond Floyd course is most known for its superior conditioning. Arrowhead overseeds wall-to-wall during the winter months, ensuring lush, green grass throughout the year.

Arcadian Shores is the area’s fastest rising course. Rees Jones’ first design, Arcadian underwent a 2017 renovation that included the installation of new greens, cart paths and the construction of a new clubhouse, among other enhancements.

The Jones Course is the premier layout at Sea Trail Golf Resort, a 54-hole facility just across the state line in Brunswick County, N.C.

RING IN THE NEW YEAR AT THE SEA PINES RESORT, THE PERFECT FAMILY DESTINATION

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (Nov. 7, 2018) — Times Square might have history on its side, but The Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island is carving out its own New Year’s Eve tradition.

For the ninth consecutive year, the resort will play host to two separate New Year’s Eve events – an early one geared for families, a midnight one for those who like to stay up late – both capped by ball drops from the top of the 93-foot tall Harbour Town Lighthouse, the iconic symbol of the Lowcountry region.

The early event…

  • Runs from 6 to 8 p.m., making it perfect for local and visiting families
  • Drops the nine-foot inflatable golf ball from the top of the Lighthouse at 7 p.m.
  • Features tons of child-friendly entertainment including clowns, face painting, jugglers performing and instructing, music, party favors, and much more.

The later event is set for 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. with the ball drop and deejay music on the stroke of midnight.

According to the resort’s Director of Recreation & Marine Operations Rob Bender, the two New Year’s Eve events have grown in popularity and each now attracts a few thousand people, boosted by typically pleasant weather and a beautiful seaside setting.

Over the years, the ball-drop honors have gone to an active serviceman, a town official, a representative from the RBC Heritage PGA TOUR golf tournament staged annually at the resort, and Stan Smith, Sea Pines’ head tennis touring pro, a two-time Grand Slam singles champion (1971 U.S. Open, 1972 Wimbledon), and former No. 1 player in the world.

The New Year’s Eve celebrations and ball drops are the grand finale to resort’s month-long “Harbour Town Lights” program, which includes Christmas light displays, as well as numerous holiday activities and musical performances, throughout The Sea Pines Resort. Harbour Town Lights is presented by The Sea Pines Resort, the shops in Harbour Town, and local businesses.  Visitors are asked to bring a canned good or two, or a new unwrapped child’s toy and drop them in the “well” by the Liberty Oak stage to support the The Deep Well Project, a local charity helping the less fortunate of Hilton Head Island since 1973.

The dual New Year’s Eve festivities add to The Sea Pines Resort’s rich reputation as the ideal family destination, featuring five miles of unspoiled beaches, three acclaimed golf courses, 21 clay tennis courts, 14 miles of bike and walking trails, horseback riding, Eco-Adventures, water sports, and the 605-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve rich in wildflowers, wetlands, and more than 130 species of birds.

Plus, the resort offers a wide range of lodging accommodations, perfect for families of all ages and sizes. Options abound from The Inn & Club at Harbour Town, the No. 1-rated hotel on Hilton Head Island, to luxurious vacation homes for two to 12 guests. As an added benefit, guests enjoy valuable discounts and charging privileges at the resort’s diverse restaurants, shopping outlets, and pro shops.

Three-Year Agreement Will Bring Popular Box Subscription Service to Golf’s Fastest Growing Tournament

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Short Par 4, a golf inspired box subscription service that ships hand curated, top quality, branded golf apparel, footwear and accessories directly to golfers, has reached a three-year agreement with Golf Tourism Solutions to be the title sponsor of the Fall Classic, the game’s fastest growing tournament.

As part of the sponsorship, the Myrtle Beach-based event will now be named the Short Par 4 Fall Classic.

The fifth annual event will be played November 11-15 on 16 of Myrtle Beach’s best courses. A 72-hole, two-person team event, the Fall Classic initially planned to cap the field at 360 players but due to demand expanded to 432. Even with the increased field size, the tournament has been sold out for more than a month.

As part of its sponsorship, Short Par 4 will provide Fall Classic players with custom branded apparel, including a Greg Norman pullover.

“Short Par 4, which delivers great quality and value, is an ideal partner for the Fall Classic,” Tournament Director Scott Tomasello said. “The Fall Classic appeals to golfers who enjoy the best the game has to offer and it has been growing in popularity, much like Short Par 4. This is a partnership between a brand and an event that are on the rise, and it will be beneficial to both parties and our golfers.”

Teams will be flighted based on their USGA handicaps and there will be a different format of play each day. The tournament formats will be best ball, Texas scramble, modified alternate shot and a scramble, but the golf course lineup and entry fee of $375 have been the driving forces behind the event’s rapid growth.

The courses hosting the four-round event are the Dye and Fazio courses at Barefoot Resort, Farmstead Golf Links, Glen Dornoch, Heritage Club, Leopard’s Chase, Long Bay, Pawleys Plantation, Pine Lakes, Prestwick Country Club, Rivers Edge, Thistle, TPC Myrtle Beach, Tradition, True Blue and World Tour.

Tournament festivities will begin with a welcome reception at House of Blues on November 11, an event that will feature free hor d’oeuvres and two free drinks for each person. After four rounds of golf, the event will conclude with an awards dinner at the House of Blues that will includes a buffet dinner, two free drinks per person and live entertainment.

Innisbrook Renovates South Course, Guest Suites Ahead of 50th Anniversary

Rebirth of a Legend: Innisbrook Transforms Guest Suites & Renovates South Course in Preparation for Golden Celebration

Renowned Golf Resort Continues Series of Improvements in Anticipation of 50th anniversary

TAMPA BAY, FL (August 20, 2018) – When the idea to build Innisbrook, now a Salamander Resort, was conceived, the concept was both exciting and disruptive: a luxurious Florida golf resort with multiple courses and condominium-style accommodations. After it opened in 1970, the Tampa Bay area property quickly vaulted into the echelons of the country’s finest golf resorts, and has remained there ever since thanks to the addition of many more amenities, the staging of a PGA TOUR event for the past 29 years, and an owner dedicated to quality and service. Its popularity has never been greater.

Now, as preparations begin to celebrate its 50th anniversary begin, the resort today announced it will completely remodel the interiors of all of its spacious guest accommodations by the end of 2018. In addition, the resort will complete renovation work on its South Course this fall. These enhancements follow many other improvements made by Innisbrook Owner Sheila Johnson since she purchased the property and Salamander Hotels & Resorts, the company Johnson founded, began managing it.

“Our suites have long been favorites of golfers, families, and conference groups. The transformation of our guest experience will provide fresher, more attractive and consistent accommodations,” says Innisbrook Managing Director Mike Williams. “We are excited to further improve the quality of each and every stay, while the renovation of the South Course’s greens will give golfers another firm and consistent surface on which to play.”

The accommodation remodeling program will upgrade the resort’s executive-, one- and two-bedroom condo-style suites to feature an appealing and modern look. Each unit will be completely refreshed to receive all new furniture, furnishings, flooring, stainless-steel appliances, quartz counters, cabinets, lighting, draperies and other decor.

The celebrated golf resort’s suites are located in low-rise lodge buildings, which were designed to blend into the property’s 900 wooded acres through the use of a “back-to-nature” style of architecture. The buildings feature steeply sloped, Mansard-style rooflines that deliberately sit below the treetops to offer a sense of seclusion for the guest. The remodeling work will begin in September and is expected to conclude before the end of 2018. Amenities and public spaces will not be affected, and therefore guest impact during this timeframe will be minimal.

Innisbrook’s popular South Course, one of four championship layouts at the resort, is nearing the end of a five-month renovation and will re-open this fall. All the greens have been planted with TifEagle Bermuda Grass – the same surface used at the resort’s celebrated Copperhead Course, which hosts the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship every March. In addition to the replacement of the greens, the project also includes the expansion of the greens to their original size, and re-sodding and improvement of all bunker edging.

The suite makeovers and South Course restoration are just the latest in a series of improvements Salamander Hotels & Resorts have made at Innisbrook. Other enhancements include:

· Restoration of the famed Copperhead Golf Course

· Renovations to the Island Golf Course

· Expansion of the Osprey Clubhouse

· Addition of the Market Salamander Grille & Bar

· Opening of the Salamander Spa and Fitness Center

· Refurbishing of its 65,000 square feet of Conference Space

· Revamping of the Loch Ness Pool Complex

· Installation of new greens on the North Golf Course

Through September 30, Innisbrook is offering a 25 percent savings and a $50 resort credit with a stay of two nights or more. The package also includes complimentary golf for juniors under 17 with a paying adult, complimentary breakfast for children under 12 with a paying adult, and complimentary shuttle to nearby Honeymoon Island.
