Srixon Introduces the All-New Z-STAR Series: Built for Distance

Srixon Introduces the All-New Z-STAR Series: Built for Distance

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Jan. 14, 2019 — SRIXON®, a global leader in golf ball technology and innovation, announces the launch of the sixth generation Z-STAR Series golf ball. The Srixon Z-STAR XV and Z-STAR are available in Pure White™ and Tour Yellow™ and officially launch in North America on February 1, 2019.

“Distance is one of the major strengths of my game, and I trust the performance of the Z-STAR XV like nothing else on Tour,” said professional Cameron Champ, who currently leads the Tour in driving distance. “The exceptional ball speed and distance that I’m able to generate with the Z-STAR Series gives me the unique opportunity to compete at an elite level week-in-and-week-out.”

The sixth generation Z-STAR Series features the all-new FastLayer Core, a revolutionary way to make a golf ball core. It starts soft in the center and gradually becomes firmer around its edge. This greatly enhances ball speed for maximum distance performance, while maintaining exceptional feel at impact.

“The new Z-STAR Series golf balls are built on top of the heritage of one of the most successful, trusted Tour golf balls in the market,” said Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development. “The exceptional ball speed and distance of both Z-STAR offerings are driven by the new FastLayer Core technology, producing both outstanding ball speed and launch conditions tuned for the high swing-speed, better player.”

The new Z-STAR Series golf balls feature new Spin Skin technology with Slide-Ring Material (SeRM), a urethane compound that coats the cover of every Z-STAR Series golf ball. By taking unprecedented levels of shearing force without breaking its molecular bonds, Spin Skin with SeRM is able to dig deep into your wedge and iron grooves, dramatically increasing friction and maximizing spin for more control and more stopping power on every shot.

The all-new Z-STAR Series golf balls are the first and only in the world to use Slide-Ring Material, providing a competitive advantage that cannot be matched.

“Engineered for more spin and control, the Z-STAR Series features a Spin Skin coating enhanced with SeRM, an extremely flexible material,” Brunski said. “Never before has Srixon combined so many technologies in one golf ball, to produce more friction for more spin around the green.”

The 338 Speed Dimple Pattern on each Z-STAR Series golf ball improves overall aerodynamics for better flight performance, even in the toughest wind conditions, with drivers, woods and irons.

The sixth generation Z-STAR XV features a softer urethane cover and Spin Skin with SeRM, which significantly increases greenside spin for more short game control. It features a four-piece construction with a smaller inner core and larger outer core for more distance off the tee.

“The new Z-STAR XV is hotter off the driver,” said four-time Tour winner Keegan Bradley. “It’s definitely longer with my irons as well. So, it’s a ball that’s going to help you throughout the entire bag.”

Similarly, the new Z-STAR golf ball features Spin Skin with SeRM, which increases greenside spin and short game control, while maintaining that soft feel. In addition, the 2019 Z-STAR employs a three-piece construction and slightly increased compression with a harder mantle layer for more ball speed, reduced spin and more distance.

Key Technologies:

·         New FastLayer Core: The FastLayer Core starts soft in the center and gradually becomes firm around its edge, giving high-speed players exceptional feel and enhanced ball speed for maximum distance.

·         4TH Generation Spin Skin with SeRM: A new coating with flexible molecular bonds digs deep into wedge and iron grooves, maximizing spin for more control and more stopping power.

·         338 Speed Dimple Pattern: The 338 Speed Dimple Pattern offers less drag and more lift to boost overall distance, while flying straight even in the toughest wind conditions.

The Srixon Z-STAR Series golf balls officially launch in North America on February 1, 2019, at a MAP of $39.99 per dozen….

WILSON GOLF ANNOUNCES NEW REDEFINED STAFF MODEL IRONS

WILSON GOLF ANNOUNCES NEW REDEFINED STAFF MODEL IRONS

Wilson Advisory Staff Member Brendan Steele Collaborates with Wilson LABS on
Next Generation of Staff Model Blades

CHICAGO, January 23, 2019 –  Wilson has officially announced the modernization of a timeless classic with the release of the all-new Wilson Staff Model irons. The company has a rich history of forged “blade” irons, many of which have been played by game’s greats. The new generation of Staff Model irons are an appropriate continuation of the brand’s most cherished product lines.

The Staff Model irons utilize a shape similar to that of FG Tour 100, while retaining Fluid Feel Hosel construction, which helps to move weight and enhance feel. This new Blade also features a milled diamond pattern which frames the score lines. Additionally, a milled face provides players with improved control and feel. The forged 8620 carbon steel is combined with a high polish mirror finish to give the blades a premium finish. For optimum feel, the irons also feature a bore through fluid feel design.

After racking up two PGA Tour victories with the FG Tour 100 irons, Brendan Steele went back to the drawing board and collaborated with the Wilson LABS team to assist in the development of the new Staff Model irons. Brendan challenged the team at Wilson to create a more modern aesthetic, without sacrificing performance. Steele felt it was crucial to keep the execution consistent and was eager to incorporate his feedback on design, specifically maintaining a thinner top line at address. After two years of development, the new Staff Model blades were finally brought to life.

Steele’s hands on relationship with the brand has been critical to the development of new Wilson golf products. The two sides have worked very well together over the past few years, which made it a no brainer for Steele to officially extend his longstanding relationship with the brand for three more years, through 2021.

“To be able to genuinely provide my insight on the next generation on FG Tour 100 irons was an experience I’ll never forget,” said Steele. “By design, we crafted the new Staff Model irons to have a similar look as the FG Tour 100, which was critical as I continue to evaluate changes to my equipment.”

The performance of the new irons speaks for itself. Gary Woodland was the first to debut the prototype irons and has seen early success. In his first event at the QBE Shootout in the Bahamas, Woodland made a hole-in-one on a 202 yard Par 3. Just three weeks later, at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui, Woodland led the field in Greens in Regulation, with an impressive 87.5% for the week using the Staff Model irons.

“Through precise performance and visually pleasing aesthetics, the Staff Model irons combine the look and feel demanded by today’s players,” said Jon Pergande, Global Innovation Manager at Wilson Golf. “Brendan’s influence on these irons was impactful and with the phenomenal expertise of the Wilson LABS team, we knew these irons were going to be an extremely polished product.”

XXIO Reveals the All-New XXIO Prime: Indulge in Distance

XXIO Reveals the All-New XXIO Prime: Indulge in Distance

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Jan. 18, 2019 — XXIO®, a global leader in premium lightweight golf equipment, introduces the all-new XXIO Prime, easy distance and easy accuracy for moderate swing speed golfers. The new XXIO Prime officially launches in North America on March 1, 2019.

“XXIO Prime is, quite frankly, the most unique and beneficial product ever available to moderate swing speed players. Period,” said Chuck Thiry, Vice President of XXIO USA. “People might think that is marketing hype, but they simply haven’t hit Prime yet.”

XXIO Prime Woods

The new XXIO Prime Woods feature a redesigned hosel structure and reduced stiffness at the tip of the driver shaft, making it easier for moderate swing speed players to shut the face at impact for longer, straighter drives.

Also, the new XXIO Prime Woods are lighter, making them faster while still remaining extremely easy to swing. A new forged cup face, made from Super-TIX® PLUS Titanium, is thinner, lighter and stronger for maximum COR across the entire face for more ball speed and enhanced distance.

“The speed increases, higher launch angles, and draw bias of the new Prime will show immediate results from swing one,” Thiry said. “It’s legit lightweight power for the players that absolutely need it the most.”

Key Technologies:

·         Super-Tix Plus Forged Titanium Cup Face: Forged from Super-TIX® PLUS Titanium, a lightweight yet high-strength alloy, the new Cup Face greatly increases distance performance thanks to a hotter sweet spot that’s noticeably larger than the previous model’s.

·         Unprecedented Lightweight Construction: The SP-1000 Shaft, with TORAYCA® T1100G carbon fiber and NANOALLOY resin, is strong yet extremely lightweight. That, along with weight savings in the grip and club head, produces woods that are remarkably fast and remarkably easy to swing.

·         Groundbreaking Forgiveness Features: With an expanded toe and narrowed heel, a tungsten-nickel inner weight that is low and deep, a lighter hosel repositioned closer to the center of the face, and finally, reduced stiffness at the tip of the shaft, this is our most forgiving suite of XXIO Prime Woods.

XXIO Prime Hybrids and Irons

Reach more greens in fewer shots with new XXIO Prime Hybrids. With an expanded COR across the face, a lower center of gravity, and a straighter ball flight, Prime Hybrids greatly enhance distance and ball speed from anywhere on the course.

Meanwhile, stick it close with new XXIO Prime Irons, providing more distance, more stopping power and a higher launch. Featuring a forged Super-TIX® PLUS Titanium face and CNC milled Speed Grove, new Prime Irons increase ball speed across the face for easier distance and easier accuracy.

Key Technologies:

·         Forged Maraging Steel Cup Face: Forged from Maraging Steel – a lightweight yet high-strength allow – the new Cup Face in the Prime Hybrids greatly increases distance performance thanks to a hotter sweet spot that is noticeably larger than the previous model’s.

·         Super-Tix Plus Titanium Face with Speed Groove: Made from Super-TIX® PLUS Titanium – a lightweight yet high-strength alloy – the new iron faces also feature a CNC milled speed grove that greatly increases COR for a larger, hotter sweet spot that improves ball speed for enhanced distance.

·         Unprecedented Lightweight Construction: The SP-1000 Shaft, with TORAYCA® T1100G carbon fiber and NANOALLOY resin, is strong yet extremely lightweight. That, along with weight savings in the grip and club head, produces hybrids and irons that are remarkably fast and remarkably easy to swing.

·         Groundbreaking Forgiveness Features: With an expanded toe and narrowed heel, plus a crown step that moves weight low and deep, this is our most forgiving suite of Prime Hybrids. Similarly, with two high-density tungsten nickel sole weights and an overall profile that is 3mm shorter than the previous model, this is our most forgiving suite of Prime Irons.

“The XXIO brand continues to grow and continues to impress the moderate swing speed men and women that we believe are the lifeblood of the sport,” Thiry said. “Those players seem to be responding to our focus, and moving forward, we’ll keep the focus on those core players and we’ll remain bullish on our prospects for continued success.”

XXIO Prime officially launches in North America on March 1, 2019, at a MAP of $259.99 for a single graphite iron, $379.99 for the Prime Hybrids, $579.99 for the Prime Fairway Woods and $849.99 for the new Prime Driver.

AHEAD Unveils Fall 2019 Apparel, Headwear Lineup

AHEAD Unveils Fall 2019 Apparel, Headwear Lineup

Company to Showcase New Offerings at PGA Merchandise Show

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (Jan. 21, 2019) — AHEAD has announced its new men’s and women’s apparel and headwear offerings for Fall 2019, featuring a fashion-forward lineup to wear on the golf course, as well as an array of casual lifestyle clothing options.

For its men’s apparel line, AHEAD is introducing a brand-new color, Concord, poised to seize upon the trend of purple as one of the season’s hotter colors, according to Chuck Lord, chief creative officer, AHEAD. Concord will be prominently displayed as part of new polo and outerwear offerings, and also will be paired with popular existing colors, True Navy and Carbon, to create what Lord termed “several striking combinations that will hold appeal for a variety of ages and tastes.”

The company enjoyed considerable success with its Almalfi/Steel collection and for Fall ’19 has added a Flame accent to provide additional pop. This orange accent will be added to both the polo and pullover.

Concord also will be featured in the AHEAD Essentials men’s collection for Fall ’19 — first as a solid in the Fairway Performance polo, and second as part of the lineup of its “feedstripe” shirts.

Amalfi/Steel and True Navy/Concord are two new color combinations being added to the collection’s half-zip knit pullover line, while new collar stitching has been added to the entire line of eight colors.

Other new Essentials offerings include the Herringbone Print Quarter-Zip Pullover and the Hybrid Quarter-Zip Pullover. According to Lord, AHEAD has received considerable buzz with its pullovers over the past several seasons and the company expects the new fashion-forward herringbone print options to be met with similar approval.

Kate Lord

AHEAD’s Kate Lord women’s line is introducing two bright new, trending colors for Fall ’19. In one stylish collection, Nectarine is paired with existing Raspberry as well as black to create attractive polo, skort and outerwear options.

Daffodil debuts in the other new collection and is paired with Surf and True Navy to give women several sporty options. Azul adds another coordinating color for sleeveless polos and pullovers. Kate Lord also will be offering two diamond-print skorts that incorporate all the colors from their respective collection.

Kate Lord also will be introducing a Reverse Heather Fleece in three colors: Charcoal, True Navy and Petal.

Lord said the company continues to pride itself on its innovative, eye-catching ornamentation techniques that consistently achieve new heights in popularity on its apparel options. “We’re again very graphic-driven for Fall 2019 and when it comes to our ornamentation techniques, nobody does it better than AHEAD.”

Headwear

Long known for its innovative and popular headwear, AHEAD will be introducing its first-ever women’s brimmed sun hat for Fall ’19. Designed with a high-end Taslon fabrication, the Tiffany hat is moisture wicking with UPF sun protection and also features a ponytail holder in the back. Also set to debut is a new cap that is made of performance nylon and uses the actual fabric from the Fall ’19 Kate Lord fashion collection to adorn the visor lip and back closure strap. The Zoey will debut in three colors — Daffodil, Raspberry, and Surf.

New headwear options for men include the Cameron, a new take on AHEAD’s current “Cotton Linen Snap Back” cotton-linen mesh back cap. Lord said the company enjoyed such positive feedback on the cap, it decided to create a “solid” version of that cap. It will be introduced in two colors: Navy and Carbon linen. The Jordan, a textured performance fabric cap, will make its debut in eight colors. The nylon fabrication is moisture wicking, breathable, and lightweight.

The new Fall 2019 AHEAD men’s lines, Kate Lord women’s lines, headwear, and accessories, all will be featured at the PGA Merchandise Show Jan. 23-25 in exhibit booth 4757 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

At its booth, AHEAD will be giving away a limited number of special bottle openers celebrating the 20th anniversary of AHEAD’s partnership with golf legend Jack Nicklaus. AHEAD will have one of its engraving machines operating in the booth and will engrave each recipient’s name on the bottle opener. In spring 2018, AHEAD renewed its relationship with Nicklaus to continue representing the company’s headwear.

Bridgestone Golf Uses Ball Fitting Data To Design New Balls

Bridgestone Golf Utilizes 12-years Of Ball-Fitting Data To Build Balls With Unparalleled Distance and Forgiveness– e12 SOFT and e12 SPEED

COVINGTON, Ga. – (January 22, 2019) – Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, unveiled today its innovative e12 family of golf balls, using 12 years of proprietary ball-fitting data to take distance and accuracy performance to a new level.  The e12 family of balls builds upon the 3-piece, surlyn construction, spin-reducing forgiveness of Bridgestone’s popular e-series, now with more power than ever before.

The e12 family includes two models – e12 SOFT and e12 SPEED – delivering increased firepower off the tee and reduced sidespin for players who need it most.  Both of the e12 balls feature Bridgestone’s proprietary new Active Acceleration Mantle layer as a key component of their 3-piece construction.  The Active Acceleration Mantle is comprised of a new High Performance Polymer material that provides increased thrust and higher initial velocity at impact, while allowing Bridgestone to soften the core for greater forgiveness and enhanced feel.  In addition, each of the balls utilizes Bridgestone’s Delta Wing Dimple pattern for less drag and optimized aerodynamics. The e12 SOFT is designed specifically for players with less than 105 mph swing speeds who fight sidespin challenges, while the e12 SPEED is intended for higher swing speed players (greater than 105 mph) who struggle with accuracy off the tee.

“With the benefit of 12 years of ball-fitting data, we have amassed an incredible body of data that has allowed our R&D engineers to pinpoint specifically what causes players to lose distance and accuracy in golf ball construction,” said Elliot Mellow, Golf Ball Marketing Manager, Bridgestone Golf.  “Contrary to the traditional school of thought in golf ball design, where power comes solely from the core, our new Active Acceleration Mantle actually allows us to derive additional power from the mantle layer to boost distance. We’ve created the ‘holy grail’ of distance performance golf balls – a 3-piece surlyn construction that minimizes sidespin to provide ultimate forgiveness, while delivering velocity needed to ensure maximum distance.”

The Bridgestone e12 SOFT and e12 SPEED balls will hit retail on February 15th, 2019 and feature a street price of $29.99 per dozen.  In addition to the classic white version, the e12 SOFT will also be available in bright Matte Green, Matte Red and Matte Yellow colors.

In addition to the new e12 SOFT and e12 SPEED, Bridgestone Golf has a diverse portfolio of golf balls, designed based on information gleaned through ball-fitting, to meet the needs of a wide range of player performance characteristics, including the popular TOUR B series. For more information on the company’s entire offering of golf balls and for help selecting the right ball for you, visit bridgestonegolf.com.
