Marriott Golf Selects OneSpareTeeTime for Charity Request Management

Marriott Golf Selects OneSpareTeeTime for Charity Request Management

Alpharetta, GA (Sept. 25, 2017) — Marriott Golf Corporation has chosen OneSpareTeeTime to help manage certificate requests from charitable organizations.  Additionally, Marriott’s domestic portfolio of courses will enjoy a free listing on BestOutings.com and will automatically receive outing leads from event planners in local markets.  Several Marriott properties are taking advantage of OneSpareGolfVacation, a platform to promote slow-season and last minute golf vacations to an affluent audience.

“Our courses will save time and receive free outing leads while our resorts generate added shoulder and low-season revenue,” said Brett Stark, Vice President of Marketing, Marriott Golf. The company’s golf portfolio offers both vintage courses and challenging new designs at exciting hotel golf resorts across the country.

Marriott Golf is the latest course management group to implement a new platform to handle golf certificate requests from charities.  By managing charitable requests to its properties, OneSpareTeeTime maximizes benefits to courses with slow periods on their tee sheets and to charities that hold fundraising events.

OneSpareTeeTime is a free online platform that completely streamlines charitable requests. Along with maintaining and tracking an inventory bank of available golf certificates (twosomes or foursomes), OneSpareTeeTime automatically provides high quality course promotional materials to charities for use at their fundraisers and on their websites.

“We’ve heard from dozens of course managers that they are inundated with requests from non-profit organizations,” explains Mike Last, founder of Geronimo Solutions, the company behind the OneSpareTeeTime platform. “Our solution leaves clubs in full control, saves a lot of time, promotes their courses, and even increases revenues, all while supporting great causes. It’s a win-win opportunity that more and more courses and non-profits are embracing with enthusiasm.”

Through OneSpareTeeTime each Marriott Golf course can now configure their certificate restrictions and promotional materials as well as gather key golfer and event planner data.  Additionally, the proprietary “SuperUser” dashboard allows senior management to view activity across the entire portfolio.

“This new platform will save our managers time and administrative work, while doing a great job of promoting our courses,” added Stark.

LPGA International’s Acclaimed Jones Course Completes Greens Renovation Project

Former Host of LPGA Season-Ending Championship Installed New TifEagle Putting Surfaces

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — LPGA International’s acclaimed Jones Course reopened on schedule Wednesday, September 27 following a summer greens renovation project, welcoming golfers back with pristine conditions and smooth, fast putting surfaces.

After extensive research, LPGA International installed TifEagle Bermuda, one of the newer strains of ultradwarf grass that will ensure golfers enjoy a premium putting surface throughout the year. The greens were also restored to their original size.

“The renovation went perfectly, and we can’t wait to welcome golfers back this fall,” said Michael Glenn, LPGA International’s general manager. “Players will find the greens are smooth and fast, and the course, from tee to green, is in superb condition.”

The Jones Course hosted the LPGA’s Sprint Titleholders Championship from 1996 through 1998, and World Golf Hall of Fame member Karrie Webb was one of the winners. The layout will host the final stage of the LPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament Nov. 27 – Dec. 3, and the Symetra Tour Championship Oct. 5-8.

A links style design, the Jones Course has five sets of tees that stretch from 5,131 yards to 7,088 yards, providing the appropriate level of challenge for players of all skill levels. Strategic mounding, expansive bunkers, natural marsh areas and lakes provide unforgettable visuals and have helped make the course one of Florida’s best.

LPGA International is also home to the highly touted Hills Course, and helps anchor the Daytona Beach golf scene. Daytona Beach is home to more than 20 courses and is an easy drive from multiple PGA Tour stops, making it an ideal destination for golfers in search of good times on and off the course.

With multiple package options, which allow groups the opportunity to bundle golf and accommodations, and the lure of the World’s Most Famous Beach, Daytona Beach is a fast-emerging golf destination.

FALLEN OAK AT BEAU RIVAGE TO HOST VGA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OCT 8-11

FALLEN OAK AT BEAU RIVAGE TO HOST VGA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OCT 8-11

PINEHURST, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2017) – For the second consecutive year, the Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) will host its National Championship in Biloxi, Miss Oct. 8-11 at Fallen Oak, the Tom Fazio-designed championship course ordinarily reserved exclusively for guests of MGM Resort International’s renowned Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. The tournament features a field of regional winners that qualified over the course of the year for the opportunity to play for the title.

The 2017 VGA Tour included more than 200 tournaments at military, public and private courses, with more than 2,500 veteran golfers participating. Like the tour events, the VGA National Championship features three divisions of competition: Veteran, Combat Wounded and Family. Within each division are four handicapped flights and an open handicap Women’s flight.

The championship tournament at Fallen Oak is expected to have the same emotional impact as last year’s event in Biloxi, once again putting the service, sacrifice and patriotism of its participants in the competitive, national spotlight. Wounded veterans and Purple Heart recipients will make up nearly half the field, and competitors will range from enlisted personnel to three-star generals.

“MGM Resorts International and Beau Rivage are very honored once again to host the VGA National Championship for military veterans who will travel here from all over the United States,” said Fallen Oak Director of Golf Rick Gehr. “For these players, this tour championship is more than a game or friendly match. Rather, it’s about the benefits they derive from the camaraderie and sportsmanship of competition, and we’re proud that our award-winning golf course and resort here in Biloxi continues to be their destination of choice.”

“The regional qualifiers provided an exciting run-up to the championship with numerous playoffs, narrowly eliminating some excellent golfers” said VGA President Joshua Peyton, a retired Army Captain and Army Ranger. “Just qualifying to play in this year’s championship at Fallen Oak is a significant accomplishment for our fellow veterans.”

Founded in 2014, the VGA is a national non-profit organization offering U.S. military veterans the opportunity to enjoy competition and community through golf. Membership is open to all U.S. veterans – wounded, non-wounded, disabled, active duty and retired – as well as to their families, including parents, siblings and dependents who are at least 18 years old.

The VGA’s mission is to enhance the lives of veterans and their family members through the camaraderie and sportsmanship of golf. The VGA also focuses on Post Traumatic Growth initiatives to help veterans and families cope with combat-related injuries. Using golf as an alternative activity, these veterans can choose a more productive way to deal with the challenges that impact their everyday lives.

More information on the 2017 tour and championship event is available at www.vgachampionship.org.

About the Veteran Golfers Association
The VGA is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to promoting the game of golf to veterans and their family members. The VGA develops programs that allow its members to compete, socialize and remain physically active through the game of golf. For more information visit us at www.vgagolf.org.

BestOutings.Com: The Easy Way To Attract, Create, and Manage A Successful Golf Outing

BestOutings.Com: The Easy Way To Attract, Create, and Manage A Successful Golf Outing

Alpharetta, Ga. (September 6, 2017) – When Mike Last of Geronimo Solutions—which provides technology that connects businesses with non-profits—set out to change the way the golf industry handles requests from non-profits and manages extra inventory while also helping charities, he never imagined that he would become a matchmaker. But the more Last put non-profits and charities together, the more he realized a piece of the puzzle was missing: A way for these non-profits to find the best golf course to hold their next outing.

And so BestOutings.com was born.

A simple-to-use website—it promises “point, click and golf!”—BestOutings.com serves both sides of the outing equation equally well by providing all the necessary tools.

Today, BestOutings.com is the most comprehensive golf course guide ever to support outing planners, supported by the most comprehensive outing product / services directory in the marketplace.  In the past five months, the site has already received (and distributed to courses) 163 outing quote requests and been visited more than 67,000 times by event planners.

For tournament planners, BestOutings.com provides valuable information on more than 13,000 courses in the U.S. and Canada. And rather than forcing the event coordinator to call numerous courses to provide information about holding an event, BestOutings.com offers a one-click “submit your tournament request” tool that collects all the important criteria, from number of players, budget, and possible dates, and distributes those quote requests to the best area courses.

For golf courses, BestOutings.com does the hard work of gathering requests for quotation and promoting the venue, providing a complete listing (logo, photo, description, outing and membership links) for all participating courses, along with any “outing specific” promotions the courses may be running.

Additional support may be found in the site’s comprehensive directory of hundreds of companies that provide outing prizes, awards, products, hole-in-one insurance, even software, as well as a blog of “best practices” articles with tips for both outing planners and venues. Through its sister site, TravelPledge.com, outing coordinators can find a wide variety of fun experiences to convert into donations at raffles and auctions.

Whether planning an outing or managing the course where outings are held, the only site that makes the perfect match is BestOutings.com.

Caledonia Golf Vacations Unveils Golftoberfest Stay-and-Play Package Featuring Caledonia and True Blue

Golfers Can Enjoy 3-Night, 4-Round Package at Two of America’s Top 100 Public Courses

Pawleys Island, S.C. – As the fall golf season approaches, group leaders that want to enjoy the game’s best combination of top 100 golf and value are flocking to the Golftoberfest package offered by Caledonia Golf Vacations.

The three-night four round deal features golf at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club, a pair of Mike Strantz designs that are ranked among America’s top 100 public courses by Golf Magazine.

The deal, which includes accommodations at True Blue condos, allows golfers to enjoy the pair of premier courses in any combination they would like starting at $639. October is the heart of the Myrtle Beach area’s peak fall season when temperatures are ideal – the average high is 77 – and the South Carolina humidity has receded.

Caledonia, which is equal parts art and architecture, plays through a stunning piece of lowcountry land that was once home to a thriving rice plantation. The live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, the marshy waters of the Waccamaw Neck, and Strantz’s architectural brilliance combined to make Caledonia one of America’s premier public golf experiences.

Golf Channel’s travel guru Matt Ginella wrote of the course, “I could never imagine a trip to Myrtle and not heading down to Pawleys Island to play Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.”

A round at True Blue, while completely different from a design perspective, is no less captivating. Everything about the 7,126-yard layout is big – the fairways, the greens and most of all, the fun.

Strantz used waste bunkers, which frame many of the course’s fairways, to craft a layout that is among the area’s most visually stunning.

Golf Magazine’s travel expert, Joe Passov, said of True Blue, “From the late, great Strantz’s sublime design to the helpful staff to the tip-top course conditions, this dramatic, watery layout remains a must play in Myrtle Beach.”

New TFi 2135 Satin Putters from Cleveland Golf Provide Total Speed Control and Perfect Alignment

New TFi 2135 Satin Putters from Cleveland Golf Provide Total Speed Control and Perfect Alignment

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Aug. 28, 2017 — CLEVELAND GOLF® unveils new alignment and speed control technologies in the updated TFi® 2135 Satin putter models. Featuring a new tour satin color scheme, high-contrast alignment lines and a customized milling pattern on each of the five head shapes, the new putters are available for presale Aug. 28, 2017 and officially launch Sept. 15, 2017.

Since its founding in 1979, Cleveland Golf’s innovative putter designs have pushed the limits of technology, look, and feel. The new TFi 2135 Satin putters continue this tradition, with putter advancements designed to improve alignment, soft feel, and speed control.

Speed Optimized Milling on the TFi 2135 Satin putters adjusts energy transference so that every putt rolls to the same distance regardless of where it is struck on the face. Because MOI varies across models, the amount of ball speed correction has been individually customized to each of the five shapes, ensuring every model employs the precise level of speed correction required for consistent distance control.

“Traditional putters come up short when you hit the ball even just a bit toward the heel or toe,” said Jeff Brunski, Director of Research and Development at Cleveland Golf. “We lowered ball speed on center strikes and added ball speed on off-center strikes to produce uniform distance no matter where you strike the ball.”

“The exact magnitude of these changes varies slightly based on the shape and weighting of the putter model. So we’ve actually produced a different face for every model within the family to make sure each one provides perfect distance control.”

The 2135 Alignment Technology used on each TFi 2135 Satin putter provides perfect alignment on every putt. With sightlines raised 21.35 millimeters off the ground—the exact radius of a golf ball—the technology delivers accurate alignment feedback regardless of address position. The new putters improve upon previous generations of 2135 Alignment Technology with 50 percent higher contrast sightlines that make precise alignment even easier.

The putters’ multi-material head construction uses True Feel Innovation®: a Polymer TPU face insert that dampens vibrations and enhances feel. Paired with face milling that’s three times deeper than previous models, the new TFi 2135 Satin putters strike the ball with exceptionally soft feel.

Key Innovations Inside TFi 2135 Satin Putters:

· High Contrast 2135 Alignment Technology raises the sightline to the exact center of the golf ball, providing accurate alignment regardless of eye position at address.
· True Feel Innovation uses multi-material construction to produce extremely soft feel.
· Speed Optimized Milling provides perfect distance control by adding speed on off-center hits.

The TFi 2135 Satin standard models are 1.0, Rho, Elevado and Cero; the counterbalanced models are 8.0 and Elevado CB. Standard heads with the midsized pistol grip are $149.99 MAP. Standard heads with oversized grips are $159.99 MAP. Counterbalanced models are $179.99 MAP.
