Volunteer Package Fantastically Upgraded
White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. – (May 26, 2016): As a result of the overwhelming response in ticket reservations following last week’s announcement that The Greenbrier Classic is providing complimentary tickets to this year’s event, the need for volunteers has grown greater than ever before.
“The response has just been tremendous,” said Jim Justice, The Greenbrier Owner and CEO and The Greenbrier Classic Chairman. “We are expecting tremendously higher fan numbers than we’ve ever had, and with more people on the grounds, we need more volunteers to help make sure things run smoothly.”
The volunteer program has been updated for 2016, making the benefits of joining the team much greater. One lucky volunteer will win $20,000.
Each volunteer will receive and official tournament golf shirt, an official tournament outerwear piece and the choice of either a tournament hat or visor. Each volunteer will also receive a volunteer credential for all seven days of competition, a Greenbrier Classic commemorative volunteer pin, a meal voucher for each shift worked, a voucher for 10 percent off tournament merchandise and the choice of either a round of golf for one on The Meadows Course or a complimentary spa treatment package at The Greenbrier Spa.
All volunteers who work four to seven shifts will receive a one-night complimentary stay at The Greenbrier. All volunteers who work eight or more shifts will receive a round of golf for two on The Old White TPC, The Greenbrier or The Meadows Course, as well as a complimentary two-night stay at The Greenbrier.
“Our volunteers are as important as anything we do with The Greenbrier Classic,” said Justice. “They are a big reason this tournament has been so successful over its first six years, and we want to make sure they’re rewarded appropriately.”
In addition to these unprecedented incentives, volunteers will have a chance to win cash in a jackpot.
At the completion of their fourth shift worked, volunteers will earn a raffle ticket. For each additional shift worked after the fourth shift, they’ll receive one additional raffle ticket. At the end of the tournament, a ticket will be drawn, and one lucky winner will win $10,000 cash and $10,000 to be donated to the charity of his or her choice.
The Greenbrier Classic, an annual PGA TOUR FedExCup event, will take place July 4-10 on The Old White TPC Course, the oldest course on the PGA TOUR. To sign up to volunteer, visit www.greenbrierclassic.com/volunteers or call 888-598-7380.
